Natasha L. Blackshear helps her clients by putting together legal documents necessary to achieve their objectives and providing them legal counsel. She has experience with corporate transactions, government contracts, various types of debt and equity financings, including municipal finance, securities and tax matters.
Ms. Blackshear’s prior experience includes working for two years as a Partner at Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan LLP, running its Nashville office, which, prior to September 1, 2009, was Natasha L. Blackshear & Associates, PLC, a law firm she founded. Prior to entering private legal practice, Ms. Blackshear worked as a venture capitalist for five years at Council Ventures, LP, where she was part of a four-person investment team investing a $52 million fund. Preceding becoming a venture capitalist, Ms. Blackshear worked as a senior associate in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Corporate Valuation Consulting division (now merged with the investment bank of Duff and Phelps).
In 2011, Ms. Blackshear was recognized by the Nashville Post as being one of Nashville’s top two public finance attorneys and top 101 lawyers. Ms. Blackshear earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, an M.B.A. from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, and a B.S. from Cornell University. She is admitted to the bar in New York, Massachusetts (retired) and Tennessee.
Ms. Blackshear serves as a trustee on the Board of Trusts of American Sentinel University.
On a volunteer basis, Ms. Blackshear works in many different roles to help children and families that come in contact with the child protection system. She is fluent in Spanish. She is married to Attorney Jeffrey Blackshear and has a son, Jeffrey, Jr.
